When and Were:
We will leave Greenwood High School, 5065 Scottsville Rd, Bowling Green, KY at 7:30 AM for a 2.5-hour drive to Jack Daniel Distillery, 133 Lynchburg Highway, Lynchburg, TN (we will announce a meet-up point for our Tennessee members as well - TBD). Parking across the street from the distillery.
Event Details:
After parking we will go to Miss Mary Bobo's restaurant for lunch. After lunch, we will have time to walk down to the town square to do a little shopping (Lodge Factory Store, Jack Daniels Gift Shop, and many more!). We will regroup at the distillery at 1:00 for our tours that start at 1:30 and 1:40 (2 tour groups of 24 people each). The tour lasts 90 minutes and involves walking (close to 1 mile) and stairs (up and down 170 stairs throughout the tour). Along the way you will ascend into a working barrel house and witness the intricate process firsthand, enjoy a distillery tour, and then head to their tasting room. In their exclusive tasting, we will savor a selection of 6 whiskeys. (Those who do not wish to drink can watch and learn more about their whiskey).
Food:
We will walk down to Main Street to meet up for lunch at Miss Mary Bobo's restaurant (295 Main St) for our 11:00 lunch reservations (arrive by 10:45). Please be aware that the restaurant serves family style lunches, and we will be divided up in the restaurant into mini groups to sit at 8 or 9 tables with a docent at each table who will provide us with information about the history of the restaurant while we eat. ***Be sure to leave a tip when you leave as it's not included in the lunch price. Tips go directly to the students who were awarded the Tennessee Promise scholarships who work at the restaurant and help keep things running smoothly.
Price:
The Price for both lunch at Miss Mary Bobo's and Jack Daniels is $70.00 Ea. Payment must be made in advance. Cancellations & Refunds: Full refunds for cancellations made by July 17, 2025.
